What we collect, and what we don't
What we collect
Only what you type into a form on this site. That is your name, your email address, and optionally your ZIP code, along with whichever boxes you check to tell us how you want to help. If you ask for a yard sign, we also ask for the street address where the sign should go, because someone has to carry it there, and you can leave a phone number if you would rather we call to arrange it. The phone number is optional every time we ask for it. We do not ask for your date of birth or your party registration, and we do not buy that information about you from anyone else.
What we do with it
We use it to email you campaign updates, to reach out about volunteering or a yard sign if you asked for one, to drop off and later pick up that sign, and to understand where in the district our support is coming from. If you left a phone number, we use it only to arrange that sign. That is the whole list.
What we will never do
We will never sell your information. We will never trade or rent it to another campaign, committee, or organization. If a vendor helps us send email, they may process your address on our behalf and may not use it for anything else.
Getting out
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. If you would rather be removed from our records entirely, email david@coherforpcc.com and we will delete what we have and confirm when it is done.
Contributions
California law requires campaigns to publicly report the name, address, occupation, and employer of anyone who contributes above a set threshold. If you contribute to this campaign, that information becomes part of a public filing. That requirement comes from the Political Reform Act, not from us, and it is outside our control.
Questions you send David
If you use the Ask David page, we keep your question along with your name and email address, and we use them to answer you. Nothing you write appears on this site. If you check the box that says David may share your question in a campaign update, he will use your first name only and never your email address, and if you leave that box unchecked the question stays between you and the campaign.
The district map
If you search an address on our district map page, that address is sent to OpenStreetMap's geocoding service to convert it into map coordinates. We do not store it, and it is never attached to your name or added to any list.
Questions
Email david@coherforpcc.com and a person will answer you.
